FARMHOUSE IN THE BORDERS

I loved this project from start to finish. I was brought in to help change the dated colour scheme, curtains and fixtures and fittings which the family had lived with for many years. The lovely owner felt that she finally had some time, after raising her family and generally being too busy to put her thoughts to the 'interiors of the house'.

After my initial visit I left with a clear vision of getting rid of the green carpet, terracotta walls and dated 'swags & tails' floral curtains and replacing it with soft restful colours and blinds instead of curtains to open up the windows and let in more light and views of the garden. The old lights were changed to tone with the new scheme, introducing a lovely verdigris coach lamp as the centre light at the top of the stairs to create a stunning feature and subtle side lighting downstairs.
The house now has a fresh feel to it with the soft green/blue tones bringing in the colours of the garden and generally giving the house a much needed face lift.

Working with Catherine to decorate my Hall was a pleasure from start to finish. Catherine embraced the space, used her vivid imagination and creative flair to give me a Hall I love. She was always receptive to any of my inputs and was willing to accept any parameters of judgement or costs.
I look forward to working with her again.
